Insiders’ Guide to Virginia’s Blue Ridge

Insiders’ Guide to Virginia’s Blue Ridge, 9th (Insiders’ Guide Series)

For sheer beauty and tranquility, nothing equals the flora, fauna, rivers, and lakes of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. But this region–once home to Thomas Jefferson and Booker T. Washington–is also rich in history and culture. This guide details everything this area has to offer for longtime residents, visitors, and retirees.

Test it out before you buy…

I’ve bought a number of these “Insiders’ Guides” over the years, and like the one reviewer at Amazon noted, the layout of the books takes some getting used to. Rather than being organized by location they are organized by activity…So all of the history information is in one chapter, all of the restaurants in a chapter… To see what we are talking about click on the Chapters button at the top of the preview pane and check out the chapters headings. I remember it being workable, but not something you really used on the road, more a tool for the evening as you plan the next days itinerary.
